We are currently looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our Embedded Engineering department and drive engineering excellence across our portfolio.

Our largest engineering hub is located in Čakovec, Croatia, where we have recently opened our brand-new FRAMOS Campus with state-of-the-art laboratories and manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will centrally lead our local engineering hub by ensuring alignment and common standards across all engineering teams.
Reporting directly to the Director of Embedded Engineering based in Čakovec, and with a dotted line to the Director Product & Technology in Munich, you will be accountable for the overall performance of the Engineering department and ensure reliable delivery of product development projects.

You will lead our Engineering department of approximately 20 engineers,based in Čakovec, Zagreb and remotely in Croatia, including 4 direct reports at Team Lead level, and ensure consistent leadership, performance, and development across the organization.
You will define and enforce engineering standards, governance, and development processes across teams.
You will allocate and rebalance resources across teams and resolve prioritization conflicts according to FRAMOS’ go to market strategy.
You will own department-wide capacity and capability planning (12–24 months), including hiring strategy, skills development, and succession planning.
You will act as the final escalation point for cross-team and cross-domain technical decisions and trade-offs.
You will drive continuous improvement of engineering practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity and product quality.
You will ensure strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Technical Project Management, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain.
You will ensure technical documentation is complete,accurate, and supports product usability, maintainability, and compliance.

This role is designed as a hybrid leadership position with regular presence in Čakovec, collaborating closely with on-site teams while enabling effective work across distributed teams.

YOUR PROFILE

In this role it is beneficial if you have gained significant experience in engineering leadership within embedded systems, electronic hardware, cameras, or related technology environments.

You bring proven experience leading engineering teams.
You are a resilient and strong change driver who is comfortable operating in complex organizational setups and driving alignment across different leadership lines.
You demonstrate boldness in driving innovation and are able to bring stakeholders along, creating alignment and commitment while advancing necessary change.
You have experience working in environments with multiple stakeholders and reporting lines, and you are able to balance local execution needs with broader strategic direction.
You build strong, trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders and collaborate closely with counterparts across functions, especially in Product and Technology.
You are a structured and analytical thinker who can navigate ambiguity, resolve conflicts, and drive decisions forward.
You combine strategic thinking (1–3 year horizon) with a strong focus on execution and delivery.
You are experienced in resource planning and in driving teams toward predictable and reliable outcomes.
